Line 1 of the Hanoi Metro is an under-construction metro line from Noi Bai Airport to Hung Vuong Stadium.
The original plan was for a 38 km line with 23 stations from Ngoc Hoi to Yen Vien (Phase 1 and 2), while Phase 3 would go from Gia Lam to Duong Xa.
The line will now be 81 km and it will include in the route:

Hung Vuong Stadium
Line 1 will run along the path of the current Vietnam Railways line between Ngoc Hoi and Yen Vien via Hanoi Station. The metro line will replace national railways operating in this corridor. Hanoi railway station will be a metro station for Line 1 and Line 3.
Ngoc Hoi is the future Hanoi terminus for the Vietnam high-speed railway, so Line 1 will transport passengers from the high-speed station into central Hanoi.
The line was extended south of Ngoc Hoi to include Hùng Vương Stadium, which is planned to be the largest football stadium in the world with a capacity of 135,000.
The stadium is being built by Vingroup, and Line 1 is being implemented under an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract by a consortium of Vinhomes and VinSpeed.
Hanoi held a groundbreaking ceremony for Line 1 (alongside four other new metro lines) on 22nd of June, 2026.
