Line 2 of the Hanoi Metro is an under construction metro line connecting Noi Bai Airport with the city centre. Construction of the Nam Thang Long – Tran Hung Dao section broke ground on the 9th of October, 2025.
The original plan was for a line of 42 km in length with 32 stations. The plan for the line has since been extended further south to Hùng Vương Stadium, and the line will be 56.5 km.
Hanoi held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new section of Line 2 (alongside four other new metro lines) on 22nd of June, 2026.

Phase 1: Nam Thăng Long – Trần Hưng Đạo
11.5 km (8.9 km underground and 2.6 km elevated).
10 stations (7 underground, 3 elevated).
Phase 2: Trần Hưng Đạo – Thượng Đình
5.9 km (underground).
6 stations.
Phase 3: Thượng Đình – Ring road 2.5 – Hoàng Quốc Việt
Phase 4: Nội Bài Airport – Nam Thang Long
