Line 8 of the Hanoi Metro is an under-construction metro line from Hoa Lac – Son Dong – Mai Dich – Ring Road 3 – Linh Nam – Duong Xa.
Hanoi held a groundbreaking ceremony for Line 8 (alongside four other new metro lines) on 22nd of June, 2026.

“The city has just proposed the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) to mobilize South Korean official development assistance (ODA) for technical support for Metro line 8.”
“Once completed, the metro line would connect large and key urban zones of Hanoi such as Hoai Duc, Cau Giay, Thanh Xuan, Hoang Mai and Gia Lam. The project is scheduled to be conducted after 2020.”
